Digital Marketing Strategist

The Digital Marketing Strategist oversees the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies by using web technologies to achieve business goals, specifically to create leads for our Analytics practice area. The leads created help ensure GG+A meets future and current clients’ needs in philanthropic management. As part of an integrated marketing team, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a record in the creation, execution, and optimization of digital strategies and will have a comprehensive understanding of data-driven direct marketing practices. Critical to the role will be experience executing A/B tests along with strong analytical skills that help drive direction and future innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish marketing plan and execution strategies for all SEO/SEM, social media and display advertising campaigns with Practice Area Leader and managers
  • Align digital marketing strategies with firm strategies; liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency
  • Develop and adhere to a budget that maximizes brand exposure
  • Maintain understanding of philanthropic consulting products and services across GG+A; utilize product knowledge for marketing across digital channels
  • Expand brand presence on social media through both paid and organic channels
  • Manage top of funnel activity through lead generation (this includes web traffic and optimization experience)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and optimize digital campaigns
  • Measure and report on performance of all digital marketing campaigns, analyzing metrics and traffic to set trends
  • Evaluate emerging technologies; provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
  • Capture leads for customer relationship management system

Core Competencies

  • Solid knowledge and experience with SEO/SEM, Facebook Ads, Google AdWords, LinkedIn campaigns
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Google Analytics experience, as well as familiarity with HTML, web design, and CMS platforms
  • Knowledge of and skills with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field
  • At least 2-3 years' working experience in digital marketing, ideally with varied responsibilities supporting a brand or multiple brands within an agency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to develop compelling content for email, social, and ad campaigns, as well as consulting and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Experience building successful marketing programs
  • Desire to innovate and improve practices and processes
  • Ability to work independently and drive outcomes
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across an organization-- drive innovative solutions through to conclusion
  • Preferred experience and interest in nonprofits
