Summary

The Project Assistant will support Consultants and project teams in executing client work, primarily in the firm’s Strategic Communications and Education practice areas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating activities and deliverables for multiple projects; preparing study materials and process documents; entering and preparing data for analysis; corresponding with the project team; editing and formatting reports and other documents; preparing interview materials; and performing other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

The Project Assistant will:

  • Assist in developing reports, presentations, and other client materials, assuring the firm's quality standards by reviewing all deliverables for firm style, format, and best practices standards
  • Provide administrative support to Consultants and Project Managers, including:
  • Printing, binding, collating, and shipping materials
  • Scheduling appointments and/or conference calls
  • Preparing itineraries and collateral materials for on-site visits, meetings, and interviews
  • Performing data entry and inventory of project documents
  • Preparing background materials, including institutional profiles and biographies
  • Produce documents such as letters, memos, organizational charts, data tables/graphs, and other written materials using Microsoft Office and other software products
  • Collaborate effectively and efficiently with team members and communicate regularly regarding project deadlines and the status of tasks to ensure that work is prioritized appropriately
  • Assume project management responsibilities for all work in the Strategic Communications practice area, and, on occasion, for smaller projects within the Education practice area. These responsibilities may include:
  • Coordinating project workflow and deliverables throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Serving as the primary client liaison, responding to questions and concerns and flagging issues for Consultants as needed
  • Preparing and maintaining project timelines and other process documentation, including study manuals and timelines, client self-studies/requests for materials, and questionnaires
  • Taking a proactive role in communicating assignment deadlines to project team members and ensuring deliverables are prepared and submitted within the project timeframe
  • Manage time well to ensure availability to meet project team’s expectations for work assignments
  • Share knowledge in technical skill areas with colleagues, making a positive change and measurable difference to GG+A and client projects
  • Maintain a helpful, positive attitude and contribute to an efficient, collegial working environment
  • Other work as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; knowledge of Visio a plus
  • Minimum 1 year professional experience
  • Background in higher education, arts, or nonprofit sector preferred, particularly in a communications-related capacity
