Summary

The Project Manager (Survey Lab) advances client survey and market research projects and is responsible for the following: creating a personal sales and marketing strategy, coordinating project workflow and deliverables throughout the life of multiple, concurrent client projects, communicating with and coordinating activities of multiple project teams, compiling survey project data, performing comparative data analytics, drafting client presentations and reports, drafting or editing correspondence, conducting occasional sales/proposal related activities, and other duties as required.  This role has significant interaction with clients to create and customize surveys for nonprofit clients. Reports to the Senior Vice President, GG+A Survey Lab.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides coordination to client team projects under the direction of the lead project Consultant(s); manages and oversees completion of project, coordinates with various Analytics team members and when applicable, Consulting Resources.   
  • Serves as the primary liaison for the client, providing guidance, responding to client questions and concerns, and flagging issues for project lead(s) as appropriate.
  • Provides administrative support on study projects, including: drafting survey recipient data specifications; developing project timelines with timelines and draft collateral materials; drafting of questionnaires/survey instruments; coordinating documents; and providing overall coordination of tasks for study projects.
  • Assists in developing final reports and presentations, assuring the firm's quality standards, including charting and initial analysis of survey results.
  • Conducts and/or assists in client data compilation projects, including design of survey instruments, data collection, graphic representation, and report design.
  • Prepares and maintains timelines and project management in appropriate software, and GG+A’s CRM and time tracking software as required.
  • Collaborates and communicates with team members.  Discusses project deadlines with other GG+A colleagues as part of the project team and ensures that work is prioritized appropriately.
  • Manages time well to ensure availability to meet project team’s expectations for work assignments.
  • Takes proactive role in communicating assignment deadlines to team members and ensuring deliverables are prepared and submitted within determined timeframe. 
  • Includes colleagues in best practice advances.  Ensures deliverables follow GG+A style, format, and best practices’ standards.
  • Shares knowledge in technical skill areas with work colleagues, making a positive change and measurable difference to GG+A and client projects.
  • Maintains helpful, positive attitude; contributes to an efficient, collegial working environment.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients: emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
  • Experience in qualitative analysis, statistical analysis, survey design/analysis, or other related experience.
  • Understanding of survey and market research methodology, and ensuring best practice standards are applied across GG+A client projects.
  • Data analysis and strong experience developing visual depictions of data trends.
  • Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with sometimes limited direction and under pressure to meet exacting deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems (technologies, databases, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, graduate education in social science research, survey methodology and/or market research is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience (which can include comparable experienced derived in an academic setting) with at least 1-2 years direct experience in managing projects or programs.  Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or fundraising preferred.
  • Experience and proven ability with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  •  Experience with analytics software such as SPSS, SAS, or R is required, as is experience with data visualization (such as Tableau).
  • Experience programming survey software, such as Qualtrics, is highly desirable.
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required, though the staff member will work primarily from GG+A’s headquarters in downtown Chicago.
