The Operations Analyst/Project Assistant is a key member of the Analytics practice and is responsible for the preparation of data analysis materials and deliverables required as part of each client engagement.

The candidate will be responsible for operating database technology and reporting systems used to deliver the firm’s array of analytical products and services for the philanthropic sector and will contribute in the development of new products and services in a growing market.

He or she will work closely with internal and external clients in maintaining the firm’s reputation for the highest quality work product and client service. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Service:

  • Conduct technical calls with client staff regarding data input file requirements and data processing details
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data sets collected via online survey or data tables
  • Process client data files in a timely fashion with the highest quality, including evaluation, cleansing, and reformatting as required
  • Analyze results of screening, modeling, or survey processes and prepare insightful reports and presentations based on the results
  • Ensure quality assurance reviews of all deliverables; utilize critical reasoning skills to identify and resolve inconsistencies in data.
  • Provide client support and training

Database and Reporting:

  • Conduct data processing activities including data extraction and loading, transformation, coding, storage, and reporting
  • Use data visualization software and Microsoft Office products to develop output analysis.

Core Competencies

  • Excellent communications (phone, email, public speaking) skills in client facing role
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands. Ability to prioritize workload.
  • Familiarity with higher education and other nonprofit institutions a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 1 year of experience with data processing, business intelligence, analytics, or predictive modeling
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Prior work with Tableau and Qualtrics preferred.
  • Familiarity with database management, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and reporting tools
